What is MELATONIN? Research and experimentation conducted over 30 years, lead to the discovery that melatonin is the key to achieving health and longevity. Melatonin is the key to recharge our biological clock. Is melatonin a hormone? Melatonin is anything but a hormone. In fact, in very high doses, say spoonfuls, it would certainly not have the effect that a classic hormone would have, like cortisone. And also, because melatonin is produced not only by the pineal gland but also by the tissues, the retina, the intestinal mucosa, certain glands, and even platelets. If, for example, you continue to give cortisone to a person, you risk damaging the pituitary gland hormone that stimulates production of cortisone. With melatonin it is the opposite. If you give melatonin, the pineal gland does not produce it and rests. This is the fundamental concept of nocturnal melatonin administration. So exactly the opposite mechanism to that of classic hormones. Which is the right melatonin? If melatonin does not produce the nocturnal peak, it cannot do well, it is dangerous, because it alters biological rhythms. When melatonin makes the night peak, it puts the pineal at rest, because the pineal produces it at night. If we supplement melatonin at night, the pineal gland sees melatonin coming and does not produce it. The production of melatonin by the pineal gland is a process based on 2 very heavy enzymatic steps. Therefore, the pineal gland does not work, rests and keeps young. And this has extraordinary consequences on our lives, and well-being. | What will happen if i start taking it? If a person is healthy, they can only feel better. But if they are not healthy, very particular phenomena can occur. For example, if a person is not sleeping well, takes melatonin and sleeps even worse. But there is a reason for that! At the beginning, when the brain resynchronizes, you can experience strange phenomena such as sudden nocturnal awakenings, and even staying up all night with your eyes open. Don't get discouraged by that. Melatonin produces a benefit that manifests itself more and more marked over time, so melatonin must be taken for life as it accompanies the phenomena of inevitable alterations of aging, and therefore prevents and adjusts them. If, for example, we often develop colds and bronchitis, pharyngitis, infectious diseases of various kinds, we will notice even in very old people, who are forced to get vaccinated, we will see with amazement that slowly we will no longer develop these infectious diseases because the immune system has improved and therefore evidently, we can defend ourselves. This does not mean that we will not develop these pathologies. We will develop them but in a much milder form, much more attenuated and we will almost not notice it. If one then really wants to verify the beneficial effects of melatonin over time, they can do blood tests and repeat the same tests after 6 months or a year of melatonin. They will notice benefits at all levels, from A to Z, that includes immune system, hormones, blood, and psychological level. I used melatonin but had no effect. Why? Melatonin can only work properly if formulated to produce the nocturnal peak between 1 to 3 am. If melatonin does not artificially reproduce your nocturnal peak, that is what we create by taking it in the evening, at the time we lie down, it cannot work. Look for commercially available products with melatonin that is formulated to produce the nocturnal peak. The circadian rhythm of melatonin. Melatonin is produced by the pineal gland at night. In plasma produces a maximum peak which is about 100 picograms per milliliter) around 3 am. In saliva it also peaks but it is less high than in the blood. To have a melatonin that is able to give the nocturnal signal like the one that is produced by the pineal gland, for example, you age, are sick, you do not have a physiological nocturnal peak of melatonin. Then we have to create it, but we have to create a night peak that perfectly mimics the nocturnal peak of melatonin that takes place in the state of health of youth, when you are well and young. So the melatonin that works is the one that produces the nighttime peak between 1 and three in the morning. If you use sublingual or slow-release melatonin, you compromise the biological rhythms because the sublingual produces an acute peak anticipating the biological rhythm, while the other prolongs it, alters it. |
